New Screenwriter for WORLD WAR Z Movie

Fangoria is reporting that a new screenwriter has been brought in to work on Paramount's film adaptation of Max Brooks's WORLD WAR Z.

Apparently, political thriller specialist Matthew Michael Carnahan (State of Play, The Kingdom) is on board to take over the writing duties previously assigned to J. Michael Straczynski, a well-known fiction, TV, comics, and film writer whose been involved with everything fromthe He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon to the recent Angelina Jolie film The Changeling.

There's no indication in the Fangoria story of whether Carnahan is starting from scratch or if he's doing a rewrite on Straczynski's script.

More information as it becomes available!
