NEW DETAILS: Toronto Zombie Walk to Honour George A. Romero (Sept 12)

As I last reported on Monday, George A. Romero will be appearing in Toronto on Sept 12 for a special Toronto Zombie Walk in his honour. The regular Toronto Zombie Walk is happening on October 24th, but a special walk dubbed the "Toronto Zombie Walk: Special Director's Cut" will be taking place on September 12th to celebrate the man, his work, and the premiere of Survival of the Dead that night at the Toronto International Film Festival. Here are the official details from

Toronto Zombie Walk: Special Director’s Cut Edition

When there’s no more room in hell, the dead shall walk “Toronto”.

On October 1st, 1968 George A. Romero, Director of Night of the Living Dead, made “Zombies” a horrific house hold name.

On September 12, 2009, join us for a special Zombie Walk, a “Special Director’s Cut Edition”, to mark the North American premiere of George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead in the Midnight Madness selection of the Toronto International Film Festival. Aside from paying a fitting tribute to George Romero on the event of his newest film, we will also be celebrating Romero’s recent status as a bona fide Canadian citizen and Toronto resident!

Toronto has truly become the city of the living dead.
