Help George A. Romero Get a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Help The Zombie Research Society get George A. Romero a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by donating to their Indiegogo campaign!

Legendary horror and zombie movie director George A. Romero, without whom we would not have zombies as we know them today, does not yet have a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Despite working outside the Hollywood system for almost his entire career, Romero is nonetheless responsible for some of the most influential horror movies of all time. His original zombie trilogy Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of The Dead elevated the zombie from the world of Haitian voodoo and horror films set during the colonial era and turned them into the scariest damn flesh-eaters to grace the silver screen in modern years. Without Romero, we would not have The Walking Dead, 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, or any of the recent examples of zombie movies, comics, or video games that are tapping into the resurging zombie-mania felt among horror, pop-culture, and media fans.

The sad truth about the Hollywood Walk of Fame is that some of the most talented, inspirational, and influential people in the entertainment industry don't yet have their star. Stars on the walk of fame aren't just given away. They cost money and hopeful inductees must go through a sometimes lengthy application process where the decisions is ultimately left up to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Hell, it took comedian Ralph Garman of The Hollywood Babble-On Podcast many years to get Adam West a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and he's the freaking BATMAN! But every star must start somewhere. Now is our time to get behind The Zombie Research Society as they work to enshrine one of horror's most venerated figures.

This effort is all about the fans giving something back to the man who's given us so much. By donating just $5 you get an official "thank you" letter via email that you can print and keep as a record of your great and worthy deed.

Let the world know that you played a key part in getting Romero his Star with a deluxe certificate perfect for framing and hanging proudly in your home or office. Only a relative few lucky fans will be able to own this amazing collectors item that will instantly become a rare piece of zombie history!

We will print only the number of t-shirts needed to reward fan donations through this campaign, and then we will never print this design again. With a max of just 500, if you want a commemorative Hollywood Star shirt with Romero's mug on it consider this fair warning. NOTE: You also get the certificate.

Created by acclaimed Spanish-based artist Alvaro Tapia Hidalgo, this museum quality print pays homage to the man who invented the modern zombie that we all love and fear so much. Extremely limited supply, and once they're gone they're gone. NOTE: You also get all of the certificate and shirt.

Your honorary lifetime appointment to the Zombie Research Society Board includes a sport coat in your size with a custom embroidered chest patch. This is the same coat that Romero received when he joined the ZRS Board, and there are only a handful in existence anywhere in the world. NOTE: You also get the certificate, shirt and art print.
We've been idolizing George A. Romero for years in horror fan circles. Let's make sure that his name will forever be idolized in Hollywood, the industry that he bucked but inevitably changed forever with his groundbreaking mix of horror and social commentary

If you love zombies or have ever seen a zombie movie, please show your appreciation by donating to the George A. Romero Hollywood Star campaign.
